Organizing for Tomorrow: Double the Pell Today!
On Monday, May 3, 2021 join the UC Student Association and leading advocates from across the country for an Advocacy 101 webinar in support of Double the Pell. This 1-hour event will provide students with an overview of the campaign along with advocacy tips, actions and resources you can take to help grow this student-led effort.

Hear from Michele Streeter, senior policy analyst at The Institute for College Access and Success (TICAS), who will discuss the Pell Grant’s role in ensuring equity and access to higher education, followed by student leaders who will highlight resources to successfully build a coalition of stakeholders and host your own week of action to influence your state’s congressional delegation into action. We will also release a new Double the Pell advocacy toolkit that you, your fellow campus leaders and other advocates can use to launch a successful Double the Pell advocacy campaign on your campus and across your state. This conversation will highlight the profound influence that community advocates can have on their legislators in affecting policy change. Lauren Valles, Fund the UC campaign chair, UCLA student and a leading voice in the campaign to Double the Pell, will moderate this discussion.
