unfortunately i missed the first few minutes of the presentation, so lower division units count towards the unit max? Are the 5 units removed if it's from a CSU?
Thanks! So no matter how many community college units a student has, as long as they have no more than 9 semester units at a 4-year, their admission won't be negatively impacted by excess units, correct?
For private and out-of-state schools the challenge is also figuring out what's "transferable". Whether the UC would consider the courses "transferable". Any suggestions on how to do this?
What is the recommended way for a student with units from out of state universities to learn which courses are considered UC transferable? By completing the TAP and asking a UC Admissions representative?
Laura Macchia Amescua
We recommend that you use UC's Statement of Transfer Credit Practices to help determine which courses may be transferable. Also utilizing the TCA subject guidelines can be helpful. If you have a UC rep who visits your campus, they may be able to take a look at 4-year coursework for students who meet with them.
What is involved in a Dean's Review? What considerations are they taking into account?
This is a great webinar to explain a very confusing process of counting those units from other than a CCC

Thank you for this webinar! Great information!
I am aware some UC's use TES to post their decisions regarding the transferablity of four year coursework. Is there any way that CC counselors or evaluators can have access to TES, Many CSU's make their decisions posted on TES available to the public. As more and more students enter the CC's with multple transcripts we need help

how about authorize TES public view
TES public view please!
are all uc campus using/purchase transferology
can you please clarify...if students take concurrent enrollment or open university at a csu or uc for lower division
that is being counted AFTER the 70 unit limitation or with
Units earned at any UC campus (Extension, summer, cross/concurrent and regular academic year enrollment) are not included in the limitation but are added to the maximum transfer credit allowed and may put applicants at risk of being denied admission due to excessive unitsThis is on the Transfer credit practices page.
sorry second portion is from the site!
yes, thank you!
If a student was at an out of state university for two years and had 50 lower division units and also 9 upper divison units, then the student came to the community college and did 30 unit in the third year (so basically 89 UC units). Is the student still eligible for UC TAG? Also, are they guaranteed admissions, or is this a dean's review?
Out of country question: We require students to have coursework be evaluated by a evaluation service and given to us as an official document & broken down by lower division etc. Also to clarify, out of country general psych is general psych etc within reason, correct?
its in the tag matrix to not exceed 80 or 80 units per indivual campuses.
80 or 90*
Thank you for this informative webinar on credit maximums.
